Join 150 Mystic Chorale singers for a stirring season of soothing rhythms, uplifting lyrics
and sonorous harmonies that promise to evoke a Joie de Vivre, a zest for life… and
when have we needed that more than now? Led by the inimitable Donnell Patterson
(the Prince of Joy himself!), the season promises to be exciting, restorative and
inspiring.
Our uplifting theme threads through all genres of music and includes “Bright Morning
Stars Are Rising” and “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen” from folk and spiritual
traditions; pop classics from the catalogues of The Carpenters, Burt Bacharach, and The
Beatles, along with selections from Motown. A special treat is “There is a River,”
composed by Donnell specifically for the Mystic Chorale, a song that boldly confirms our
desire and need to be uplifted in its closing lyrics: “We sing of LOVE! We sing of
PEACE! We sing of JOY!”
Ten weeks of rehearsals begin March 31, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
